One of the main questions for a pregnant woman is considering the list of necessary purchases for a newborn – what should it include? What to buy for the baby and what are the essentials and accessories for the baby?

Sometimes the checklist for the baby may be too long and full of unnecessary things, at other times – purchases could be insufficient.

So, if the term is getting closer, your tummy is growing, and you still don’t know what to include on your baby shopping list, you’re probably already getting a bunch of tips, most of them contradictory.

Newborn Essentials Checklist! What Do I Need To Buy For The Baby?

Of course, it is up to each individual to decide what price is good, what to buy for the newborn, as well as what is more priority. Some parents prefer to rely on the major and most important items, while others, have shopped everything until the child’s third birthday.

Here is an example checklist of baby clothes, accessories and cosmetics, as well as what a mom will need for the first days after birth.

For sure the list can be expanded with any other accessories and appliances such as baby monitors, heaters, humidifiers, slings, etc., but these buys are not always necessary from the first day after birth and depend on the needs, preferences and budget of each family.

List of necessary products for mom in the first days after birth:

  • New mom disposable maternity pads
  • Underwear – regular cotton panties, nursing bra
  • Breast pump
  • Nipple cream
  • Nursing pads

Do not reserve in advance with a lot of clothes and toys, because it is likely that your family and friends will give you similar gifts.

Don’t buy too many diapers, because until you find the right brand and size for your baby, you may have to try a few of them.

Also, do not stock up on pacifiers and bottles, because your baby may not approve of the pacifier, and in case you decide to breastfeed, you won’t need many bottles. Possibly only one bottle for water (and glucose – in the beginning while the baby has jaundice), but keep in mind that very often breastfed babies do not drink water at the beginning.

Finally, when choosing all the products for your baby, think rationally and practically and shop with great motivation and а smile!
