Around 45% of women have straight hair. However, not everyone is so fortunate. If this is the case for you, learn how to get straight silky hair in 6 steps!
If you naturally have curly or wavy hair, it can be difficult to fight the frizz. Many women embrace their natural textures and that’s great but no-one should walk around with an out-of-control mane. Here are 6 steps showing you how to get straight silky hair:
STEP #1: Prime Your Hair
Every girl knows that applying primer before putting on makeup is essential. The same pertains to your hair. After gently towel drying your hair, so it isn’t dripping wet, apply a styling mouse. Use gel for a stronger hold.
STEP #2: Be Patient
Too many people reach for the hairdryer as soon as they step out of the shower. This is a big mistake. Let your hair absorb the natural nutrients and air dry for a bit first, until it is damp. Besides, if your hair is soaking wet it will just take longer to blow dry.
STEP #3: Find the Hair Line
If your parting has altered during your shower, use a comb to put it back in place. Then, apply a heat defence spray before blow-drying.
If you have a fringe, comb it forward and hold it tightly whilst you blow dry from the roots to the tip. Then you can blow dry the rest of the hair until it is fully dry, starting at the roots.
STEP #4: Divide Hair Into Sections
This step is very important if you want to know how to get sleek hair! Now that your hair is completely dry, make sure all knots have been detangled. Divide the hair into four sections, separating the top and bottom layers. Use some hair clips to pin them in place.
Leave one section loose and using a large round brush, blow dry it by pulling the hair taut toward the floor and rolling it under the brush. Keep the hairdryer’s nozzle a few inches from the brush.
Repeat with the other three sections.

STEP #5: Straightening time
Use some straightening irons to complete the overall look. Take small sections of your hair, start at the roots, and work your way down to the tips.
STEP #6: Finishing serum
Apply some finishing cream or serum to the hair to combat any flyaways. Don’t use too much though because it will just make the hair look greasy.
So there you have it – with these 6 simple steps, you already know how to get straight silky hair.
